I need a Kona colour card. Desperately!!!!
Cherry House Quilts is having a quilt along and it uses solids only. Yes, I have become a bit addicted to quilt alongs. The patterns are free, they have variety and it allows me to have a sewing goal every week.
Anyway, I have wanted to try my hand at more 'modern' designs and this is a perfect start. I want to do it in Black and Gold; Purdue colours NOT Iowa Hawkeye colours. Unfortunately, both my LQS don't carry Kona cottons and alas, my favourite Fabric Shack is a 12 hour drive away. I can order them online from the Fabric Shack, but I am unsure of the colours using my computer screen. Any suggestions?
As a Spartan, married to a Hawkeye, I'm thinking I'm wishing I would have thought of doing dueling ones for this quilt along! I already ordered my fabric though :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, I saw you posted that you had your fabric choices. I considered the gray. I figured this would be an easy way to do a collegiate quilt. Black and gold is hard to work with.
ReplyDeleteGo Big Ten!
If you really do want a Kona Color Card, Fat Quarter Shop has them (http://www.fatquartershop.com/store/stores_app/Browse_Item_Details.asp?sid=78841301915507884&Store_id=499&page_id=23&Item_ID=50336&Parent_Ids=). Expensive, but I use mine all of the time.
ReplyDeleteI bought mine at http://www.cvquiltworks.com/
ReplyDeleteI love my Kona card and use it a lot!
I just realized you are in Des Moines too! I'm not always very observant, obviously ;)
