Yo Yos!

A recent issue of American Patchwork & Quilting that had a yo-yo quilt on the cover. April maybe? Anyway, I liked it and put it on my to-do list. I had a coupon for my LQS so I picked up two fat quarters to reach the minimum for the coupon with the yo-yos in mind. Yesterday, I stopped at Joann's and they had all their quilt notions 50% off, so I picked up a Clover Yo-Yo maker. Genius! I got the extra large one which finishes at 2 3/8 inches. The jumbo size seemed a little too large finishing at 3 1/2 inches.
They are fun to make and it allows for multi-tasking while watching TV. I am able to get 9 out of a fat quarter. I have 18 done. I think the quilt I saw on the cover calls for over 400. But I'm on my way.

  1. I'm making this, too! I have the fabrics now. Haven't started the yo-yo's but hope to get the fabric cut soon so I can start making little scrunchy circles of happiness!

  2. I remember when my box was like that! Before long I needed a bigger box! It was fun making all those yo yo's. That Clover Yo Yo makers is a great invention! You can really whip out alot of yo yo's using it.

  3. Those yoyos are adorable, it will take awhile to fill that box! I think I would switch to a small basket until I got at least the first 100 done! I"m always doing something while I watch TV, it drives my family crazy!
