Slowly making progress

This week's update- the squares moved from the table to the floor.

Not much to look at

This was all I got done last night, but I feel SO much better. I worked on my Synchronized Squares quilt. The quilt along ended 3 weeks ago, but I am still plugging away. I didn't get much done. All I did was sew the layer cake squares onto the background squares and get them cut up. Then I went to bed.

Friday Night Sew In

Tonight I end my 'no sewing' streak. Thank goodness for Friday Night Sew In!

Cut my loses

Yes, pun intended. I had ordered woven heather for my background fabric for the Synchronized Squares quilt and it did not work. I thought it was going to be peach; it was orange. The fabric was like jersey and it squirmed when I cut it. I hadn't changed my blade in a while and that did not help. I tried to make it work and kept hoping the orange would grow on me. It did not. I missed the completion deadline and just wasn't enjoying the project. I decided to cut my loses and move on. I am so glad I did. I ordered another solid online and it is so much more me. It is actually a Fig Tree solid- Wheat Bella. I just finished cutting up my 10 inch squares and thoroughly enjoyed the process. I am working on putting my pieces together.

Here is another upside to ordering the new solid. I ordered it from 1 Choice 4 Quilting. The fabric was on sale (20% off) and there was a coupon code on the blog for an additional 10%. The package arrived yesterday and in it was a surprise- some extra goodies, including a pair of scissors. How cool is that? Always need more pairs of scissors.

Christmas in July

I've had this fabric for over a year and a pattern picked out for almost two. My goal is to get this done this week so I can get it back in time for Christmas.
